Weekly Off Topic Thread - Week of October 25, 2021 Anything Goes

This is the Weekly Off-Topic thread

There's more to this hobby than just credit cards - it spreads out into travel aspirations, what luggage or wallet you're using, or what flavor kombucha your local WeWork is serving. Please use this thread to talk about all things even tangentially related to churning. Memes, jokes, and off-topic content are allowed (and encouraged) here. Please use our regular threads to ask basic questions, ask questions about what card to get, or talk about MS. But if it's off-topic elsewhere, you're on-topic here.

Regular rules still apply.

Have fun!

Note: Posting and soliciting referrals are still not allowed.

One thing you learn with Southwest's boarding process is that people have weird seating preferences. I've gotten pretty forward aisle seats before with like mid-B boarding, I think even an aisle exit row with mid-B once. And one time I forgot to check in until very late and still got an aisle seat and overhead space directly above my seat (it obviously also helps that they don't charge for checked bags) toward the back of the plane.

Yup. I have noticed that aiming for the rows maybe 7-8 rows from the back is almost always the best approach for highest chance of getting an empty middle seat. The idea is people keep going back looking for an empty aisle/window, and then give up at row 3-4 from the back and grab an empty middle there. Never had a middle myself except for a late cancellation where I checked in 2 hours before departure and got a low C number.
